About Lindsey

Lindsey Beckman, MS, LPC

In high school I was aware of my desire to work in a field that would help others and was highly influenced through personal experiences while volunteering through my church. I am a firm believer in personal strength and believe all individuals can learn tools to overcome hardships and loss. With my encouragement and guidance, it is rewarding to see how my clients can adopt new tools that are added to their “tool boxes” and learn to have the grit to thrive in their best life.

After obtaining my Bachelors of Science I began my adventure helping others at Mental Health Mental Retardation working as an outreach specialist and broadened my skills working with high risk individuals. After obtaining my LPC intern, I began my counseling practice at Wise Regional Hospital and facilitated group counseling, inpatient assessments, and psychosocial sessions. I most recently worked at a well-known non-profit organization in Fort Worth, Lena Pope and specialized in working with adolescents, individuals, families, and couples. While at Lena Pope I worked with adolescents in the Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center facilitating groups on communication, relationships, and coping skills. Additionally, there were adolescents at Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program I counseled on behavior management and coping skills.

My counseling, approaching individuals, couples, and adolescents utilizes a solution focused, client centered, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My work with adolescents includes calming techniques, empathy, and practicing active listening. Throughout my practice, I employ creative tools to address relationships, anxiety, and depression by using art, music, and Narrative Therapy.
